Every quiz is a stand-alone competition as well as being part of the league, sending in one entry does not commit you to sending one in every week. Each quiz will be ten questions and you will have at least one full week to find the answers. It is expected that people will sometimes be too busy to play, this will not affect your chances of winning the league as the league is a rolling championship with the positions determined by the best three scores from the last five quizzes, so you can afford to miss a quiz occasionally without ruining your chances of being the World Quiz Champion.

There will be three ways of being the World Quiz Champion:

1] Each week's quiz has a winner

2] once we have five results in the league we can declare a reigning champion

3] At the end of the season (in July 2008) I will declare the winner for the whole season.

All entries should be by email, all entries must be from members of the forum, it's free to join and there's no catch. There are two reasons for insisting on membership of the forum, first it ensures that every player has a name to play under that they have chosen rather than leaving me with the task of deciding whether or not they meant me to use the name their email program signed their entry with and secondly it encourages players to join in on the forum.

Debate Unlimited is transparently an organ of propaganda: the internet is the greatest ever tool for freedom of expression, democracy and personal empowerment, let's use it. Playing in the quiz does not imply you agree with me on any issues, indeed the quiz functions specifically to draw people into the debates who may have different views rather than just those who passionately agree or disagree with me. The main thing is I want the Debate Unlimited forum to be full of people who enjoy thinking and are good at it. But if you just want to play the quiz that is not a problem, I won't hold it against you.
