Simple. As God doesn't exist the only way people get any help “from God” is by doing things as if he can't do it for them. The religious insist that God always gets the credit for anything good that happens so if people have helped themselves God has helped them help themselves. Religious people probably have a more complicated explanation that allows them to think they have explained it but my explanation is simpler, has fewer assumptions and therefore is the more likely to be correct. |
